Submission Guidelines
Please read the following guidelines thoroughly before submitting to this journal:

Eligibility to Submit:
- You must be an on-campus day student of Southern New Hampshire University; this excludes MFA and online students.
- Students are welcome to submit poetry, prose, essays or screenplays, as well as art and photography.
- All written submissions must be double-spaced in Times New Roman, 12 pt. font. Word Docs are preferred
- Poets can submit anywhere from 1-8 poems, and prose writers can submit stories, essays, screenplays, flash fiction, etc. up to 12 pages long.
- Our issues will be uploaded in color, so photography and art are not required to be in black and white.
- Photography and art must be submitted as a jpg in the smallest form possible.
- You may make multiple submissions within the same or across different categories; however, not all pieces are guaranteed acceptance as we try to allow as many students as possible the opportunity to be published.
Deadlines:
- Submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. on December 1, 2023.
- Acceptance/Rejection e-mails will be sent early in the spring 2024 semester.
Contributor Biography:
- Along with your submission please include a short bio about yourself.
- Include at least your preferred name, major and anticipated graduation year.
- Creativity is always encouraged, so have some fun with writing your bio!
- Please write in the third person.
- Example:
- Janice Capasso is a junior and majors in Creative Writing. Her passions include writing, cooking, and skiing. It’s her dream to quit her day job, write as much as she can, and open up her own little Italian Bistro—preferably at a ski resort lodge at 10,000 feet. She’d call it Nella Neve (In the Snow.)

If Accepted:
- Your writing/artwork will end up in the 2024 edition of The Manatee. This means the printed edition of The Manatee as well as on the 2024 edition on the website. This website is open for the general public to view.
